As you may know, Young Charity Trustees is an organisation founded by Alex Swallow a little over a year ago. In that time Alex has increased the profile and exposure of YCT has made many great connections. Alex’s knowledge and passion about the subject of trusteeship is such that he is occasionally asked to speak at events such as the upcoming WCVA (Wales Council for Voluntary Action) seminars for trustees.
Alex will be hosting a seminar entitled ‘Bringing a new dynamic to your board: how young trustees can benefit your organisation’ which will take place on – 13th September in Ruthin; 25th September in Carmarthen; 26th September in Rhayader
The questions that Alex intends to cover during the sessions include ‘Why are so few young people taking on trustee roles? And how can we change that?’ and ‘How can we engage young people as trustees?’
There will also be a chance to debate board diversity, as well as time to share your views, tips and contacts with each other.
Alex will bring all his experience and enthusiasm as a young trustee to this session. He has experience not only as a trustee, but also a company secretary and a youth mentor, and is passionate about promoting and championing young trusteeship.
Fees:
There will be a fee of £15 for WCVA members and £20 for non-members.
